the Seasoned Swine on Colfax in Golden is one of the better BBQ places I have been to in CO. Met the owner and he is a great guy. If you swing by their smoked beans are out of bounds, I have the brisket sandwich and it was killer. Looking at other plates around, everything looked great.

A friend and I stopped in yesterday for lunch.

I ordered the brisket, jalapeño sausage with cheddar, OG mac n cheese and the baked beans.

The brisket was cold as was the sausage. Then when they brought it back the sausage was still cold but the brisket was hot. Third time I finally got a sausage that was hot. Very disappointing when you spend $70 for two people. AND my friend's brisket was cold too.

The brisket was tender and pulled right apart but it was on the dry side. The jalapeño sausage with cheddar was phenomenal. I do believe I'm going to have to learn how to make some of that at home. Beans and Mac n cheese were great. Very nice smoke ring on the brisket too.

The place was clean and customer service overall was pretty good but the cook seemed annoyed when we complained about the meat being cold.

For $34.99/ lb of smoked brisket I expect HOT fresh food. Not lukewarm food.

Always meant to take a tour of the Coors Brewery but the wife has no interest in that. If I ever do make it up there I will have to give the place a try.
I had a better experience there last summer. I'll give them another run.

I rarely get Q at a restaurant for the same reason. Rarely compares to mine. Once you perfect your Q at home, its a tall order to buy it. A couple places in MS and MEM we used to frequent when our parents were alive over that way were consistently very good. But we dont make it out that way anymore.

The only problem for me at BBQ joints is that I compare their stuff with mine. Mine usually wins but I'm not impartial ;)

Same here. Which gives you an idea of the quality of other local places I've tried. So far, only our forum friend, YNOT2K's place is the only BBQ joint I return to. He's leaps and bounds better than me.

SO WITH A BEER TAX AND TIP YOU'RE LOOKIN' AT WHAT, $55-$60? THAT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK GOOD! JUST ANOTHER REASON I HAVEN'T GONE TO A RESTAURANT SINCE THE PANDEMIC HIT, NOT ONCE. HAVEN'T BEEN FOOD POISONED, NOT EVEN HAD A COLD. NO WORRY ABOUT A WAITRESS SNEEZING ON THE PLATE, MUCH LESS A FRY COOK LEAVING THE RESTROOM WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. NOPE, I'LL STAY HOME AND EAT JUST FINE.

I left a review on Google Maps and the owner followed up with this.

I did send an email but I never got a reply back to the email I sent. 😞
