Finding bannana peppers here has always been next to impossible. But, today I scored some. I bought enough for a large batch.

Simple recipe.1 part vinegar, two parts water, Kosher salt, dill, garlic. I also add pickle crisp. I detest mushy pepper rings! Vacuum sealed. I'll let them set for a week or two.

Since I've never canned anything, how do you vacuum seal those jars?

Excuse the booze bottle. It is happy hour! You use a mason jar adapter. And use either your vacuum sealer with the hose attachment. Or this hand held pump. Put it over the lid. Ring not on yet. And use this to draw out the air. And create a vacuum. This is not canning. Just a way to speed up the pickling process here. Also great to preserve spices and such. Or quick way to marinate things. The pump is usb charged. And works great.

Ah, I see said the blind man.
Thanks for enlightening me.
Maybe I was better off not knowing.
I think I've just been enabled.

Dang it, gotta buy one now. I need $10 more to reach Amazon free shipping limit.

Noticed they seem to come with lids.
Do generic lids work, or do you have to use theirs?

Also, how do you like the one you have? Recommend it?

So once vacuumed... How does it stay sealed while you take the machine off and screw on the Ring ?? The rubber rings on the lid stick and create a seal ?? Inquiring minds wanna know...

I should do some peppers but have been lazy in the kitchen lately.

Yes. The lid is vacuumed to the jar.

It can use ball or generric lids. This is mine. I really like it.

And the cup for the jars.
