I've seen posts asking where to get giant turkey drumbsticks or what brand to look for. Well Scariano Drumbsticks are GIANT 2lb each!!!!
So while at my local Albertsons grocery store I was walking by the poultry section and noticed there were some turkey wings there the other day so decided to check and see if there was any turkey on sale now that we are approaching November.
I saw 4 packs of Scariano Dumbsticks where each drumb was 2lb each and 2 drumbs per pack!!!! Price was $1.45/lb so I jumped on them.
In the past I would only see Jennie-O drumbs and thighs which were no comparison to the size of these.
I bought 4 packs for over 16 pounds of dumbs which was 8 drumbs total hahaha. They are in the curing/brining bucket in the fridge and they will cure until Sunday and I plan to smoke them a that point. I also put in 6 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast as that was on sale for $0.97/lb this week.
I'll post a picture of these giant 2lb drumbs when I smoke them. I just wanted to share the info and I believe this is the Scariano company that provides these monster drumbs: https://www.scarianobrothers.com/poultry/
Also in TX, Albertsons and Tom Thumb have turkeys already on sale. Honeysuckle for like $0.67/lb with $20 purchase of other stuff. Butterball $0.99/lb with $20 purchase of other stuff, and Butterball whole smoked turkey $2.49/lb straight up. Butterball turkey breast bone in buy 1 get 1 free. Gluck all you turkey junkies :)
I hope someone finds this helpful!
[EDIT: Adding pic below from finished smoke and link to hop right to the post with the pics]
