Hi my name is Donna and I live near Yorktown Va and am a a newbie to smokers!  I just purchased and am waiting on my Masterbuilt 30" smoker to arrive.  I am so excited and yet scared as I have no idea of what I am doing, only that I want to learn.  A year ago I decided to take my families health into my own hands and began raising my own broiler chickens for processing.  We love the fresh taste of the home grown meat and I have been testing and searching for new avenues of cooking them.  I have boiled and then canned the stock and chicken, I have used my Nu Wave oven, I have oven cooked and even crock pot cooking.  I love each method, however I am looking for that next level of flavor that I believe will come from smoking.  I am open to all ideas and advise as I navigate this new area in my life.  thanks for the forum it is a wonderful place.

Welcome to the board, Donna! Use the Search here to look up your smoker to see what others are doing with them. I usually tell people to get the hang of their smoker by cooking chx but you'll already be on it.

Lousy day for smoking here, cold and windy with a hard freeze tonight.
