Never heard of her, but I don’t watch PBS either. 49 is way to young for cancer. God’s speed to her.

I hate these posts. I lost my best friend to leukemia in 1990. The same year my daughter was born and my father passed away from cancer. I spent a good portion of my life in the hospital that year.

My wife and I have noted her weight loss over the last few years and, both with medical backgrounds of sorts, wondered if it were a chronic illness. We've been "All Access" members of the America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Country/Cooking Illustrated family of websites for years and long since decided that Elle was the personality we'd most like to share an evening with.

When we got an email from Jack Bishop of ATK with the news of Elle's loss we took a few minutes to pray for everyone involved.
