Rib Eye Roast

Costco has a big chunk of meat called the "rib eye roast". Is that the same meat as the rib eye steaks ( and I could slice it into steaks myself )? I don't have the numbers right now, but it is cheaper per pound than rib eye steaks.

It is the same thing. It is also called a prime rib or a rib roast. Slice away.
