reverse flow smoking

I am about to begin a back yard smoker build and have never cooker on a RF smoker ,I like a heavy smoke on my brisket  my question is does a RF smoke as well ? seems to me it would have a weaker smoke taste ?

I don't know why it wouldn't. The smoke still has to exit across the food area before it exits the chimney.
Plus with a reverse flow you tend to get a more even temperature.

My concern is the plate in the RF keeping smoke from covering your meat or would the majority of smoke cover the top of the meat Thanks for your reply!

The smoke generally fills the CC...   Stack placement can have an effect on CC circulation...   Tens of thousands of folks use a RF smoker...  even in Texas folks use them...  You can adjust the smoke by tweaking the fire....

Smoke flavor is no problem with a rf smoker.

Ok Thanks that settles it I will build a RF smoker now that is laid to rest ! Now I must do some research on convection plate design  Thank you guys for your help!
