I'm a long time lurker, rare poster. In any case, I've been looking into food warmers for regular usage. I have searched the threads but haven't found great insight for this.

I usually just put the meat (tri tip/ribs/turkey/....) into a half sheet AL pan and wrap in heavy duty foil to let it rest, but I want to up the quality.

I've seen warming blankets, cambros (or similar carrier) and many other solutions. I like the thought of a cambro because it can help when transporting food as well, but not sure which or if it's the best choice.

Any thoughts out there in the community? I would prefer something that'd hold a full size deep steam aluminum pan (21 x 13).

Thanks in advance,

Matt

I used cooler and towels but it was messy and hard to clean. Plus the towels get nasty after a while and you need to throw them away.

In my area it’s easy to find used Cambro from Craigslist or FB Marketplace. It’s usually from catering companies that go out of business. Got one for as cheap as $100 when new ones are $300.

My Cambro is a game changer for me. I can rest/hold briskets for 12 hours or longer, and they stay warm. I use aluminum hotel pans and lids. Keeps the meat warm, and all the juice in the pan. No more messy clean up. I’m thinking about getting a couple of the camwarmers to extend the hold time.
