HAPPY NEW(B) YEAR!!!
Originally from New York City ("yo...wassup wit' dat pulled friggin' pawk?") Yup. Different world from SW Florida where I currently reside.
I have lurked around this forum on and off for a few years and I have been very impressed with the helpful and kind natured individuals on this forum that take the time and their experience to help others out and unselfishly impart their accumulated knowledge to other members. Kinda gives one hope.
You guyz rock!!
I have been mentally masturbating for YEARS about getting my first true smoker. A smoker box in a Weber Genesis just can't do a Q.
Sooooooooo.... what kind of smoker do I need that will fit my bill? As much of an appreciation I have for this particular gastronomic art in its purist form, I must concede that I do not have the time to babysit a charcoal or propane unit. I have been very intrigued by the electric units out there, in particular the MES. BUT...with all of the electrical and door sealing issues, I have been quite reluctant.
Now I have been reading of these NEWER units ( MES model # 20070710) at Sam's (not presently a member and is wondering about that first time tryout thingie) and at Cabelas. I may very well jump on one of these newer units due to replaceable elements and other significant mods that I seem to think will be of great benefit to newer consumers. Someone was listening at Masterbuilt.
Any further guidance would be most welcomed and thanks for the warm and cordial welcome.
