With the issues I am having replacing the cover for my Chargriller (unit no longer made so cover no longer made), rust and paint flaking off, it's time to start looking.

I am in Canada so charcoal units are harder to find.

I see a Oklahoma Joe Highland Offset at a decent price. Is it a good unit. What other units might make sense?

If it was pure smoking then I would suggest a WSM. If you want to grill as well as smoke and your not smoking large amounts at a time then I would suggest a Weber kettle either the 22 or 26". A 22" kettle can smoke a brisket, butt or ribs.

Just my thoughts. I own both and use the kettle for smoking allot.

One of the things I like about the "Oki" is the grill lid is fits very closely so minimal heat loss through air leakage. I can keep a fire at temp for about 1 1/2 hours without adding charcoal.
