Hello Everyone
My 18 year old MES40 heating element died and I was wondering if elements are still available for these old units? I have a friend that has a MES340G that was damaged due to a storm but the element is still good. Would that element work in the 40? I emailed Masterbuilt but I have not heard back. I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience with this situation?
Thank You

Not sure if your smoker manual has a parts breakdown with part number, but I would start there. Also see if you can download a manual or ask your friend if he has a manual for his 340G.

If the part numbers are the same, you are in business. If they aren't identical and you are somewhat handy, a retrofit might be an option.

This thread seems to have the same topic and ID's the MES 40 heating element part number https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/threads/source-for-obsolete-mb-mes-40-heating-element.329099/
