I just put in a batch of St Louis ribs for dinner and am not having fun with my MES 40 new model. I had to get a new controller because the original liked to overshoot my temps by 50+ gegrees. However the new controller wouldn't work with my original remote so to get these ribs going I had to put the old controller back in. Well it did what it did before. I set the box to 270 to heat it up and my ET-732 showed the temp at 311. So I turned it back down to 225 and put the ribs in. Now my ET-732 shows 234 (I can live with that) but the MES remote shows 355. Seriously WTF? I have a blanket over the MES because its 18 here bur I'm not real happy right now. At least there is some hope. The AMNPS is cooking right along and next Friday I have a GMG Daniel Boone being delivered. Oh well.....

Edit: It appears the batteries in the remote took a ****. Replaced them and all is well on the remote. Turned down the temp to 220 so I'll see ow this holds.

OUCH!  It's like a dogpile..right?  Once you're down things just keep jumping on!!!!!

Let me know how the ribs turn out.

I think you need to call MB customer service again as well.  They are really very responsive and care about their customers, so keep buggin' them.

Right now it's doing we'll. I've been jiggling the temp on the remote to keep the ET-732 at 225 to 230 and its working. Ribs are in foil and in another two hours I'm good to go.
