My Dad, enlistment pic and in France, 1944. Four of his brothers also served in WWII, as did both of Mom's brothers. All survived.

Here's to the greatest generation! (Raise a toast)

I had an uncle who served in the Army in WWII, and I believe he was in the 2nd Infantry Division. He's been gone awhile, but I looked at the insignia of the Army Divisions involved in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. The only one that jumped out at me was the 2nd Division. He went to a reunion every year for decades until it became too painful to lose friends to the battle with time.

I never heard him talk about D-Day, but he did talk his involvement in the Battle of the Bulge later that year.
