Hey, guys, I am new to the forum and am looking forward to new ideas to improve my methods!

I am now looking for a new smoker in the $400 to $900 range. I have had a smokey joe, an electric smoker, a masterbuilt and a smoke hollow. Liked the last two the best. But now I’m looking to up my game and get a better one yet. Any suggestions or websites to visit?

Thanks and smoke on!

Are you looking for gas, electric, charcoal or wood burning smoker?

The WSM 22 with a pit controller is a great charcoal smoker in your price range.

Drum smokers are also a good choice and used by many successful pit masters.

You could also likely get a pellet stove cooker in that price range. My experience with them is nil so I cannot offer any meaningful advice on those.

If you have access to a metal shop and tools, you can build your own smoking rig out of a used propane cylinder. These homebuilt stick burners turn out some great product.

If you are looking for cheap, you can get an old Smokey Joe grill and use a tamale pot with a cut out bottom as a poor man's WSM. These work incredibly well for a thrift shop smoker.

Just my $0.02....

Hope you find a good fit for your needs...

Can’t believe I forgot to add that. I’m looking for a gas smoker, either propane or natural gas. However, you got me thinking about some other ideas, too. Thanks much for your quick reply!
