My wife and I are flying out to Denver for a concert over this weekend and staying west of Denver near Golden. Any of you Centennial State fellas have a suggestion for good food? I have never been to Denver myself. My wife was out there for a week last year helping her aunt after a surgery but she was near downtown the whole time and was not a fan lol.

It's been many years but I did a lot of work in downtown Denver. If the places are still around and you end up there then I can help a little.
Can't help you with west of Denver.

Let me know if you are going into downtown Denver and running up and down 16th Street Mall on the free tram/bus :D

"Old Capitol grill & smokehouse", I've heard is good but don't know first hand. If you make it to downtown "La Loma" was always good, they had some good green chili. "Buckhorn exchange" is a unique place with wild game meats and of course "Casa Bonita" will be closer to you. Locals say " you don't go to Casa Bonita for the food, you go for the experience 😂. But maybe its better since they re opened. It's been a while since I drove down to Denver, so I'm sure alot has changed. If all else fails there is a Texas de brazil right by Bass Pro Shops 😉 lol. Can't go wrong with that. Oh and where is your concert?

Food for us is always hit and miss when we drive into Denver, but downtown has many excellent restaurants, but parking is a bugger and a lot has changed in a real negative way in downtown since Covid. 16th street used to have some real good food but not sure I go there anymore, kinda reverting back into the old “5 points” from my youth, not good.

That said, we always try to make it to “The Original Pancake House” for breakfast, some of the best grub for breakfast we have ever had, and they have way more than pancakes, but expect a 20 to 30 minute wait to be seated any day of the week or sometimes a bit more. The two we have been to are the one in Greenwood Village in the Denver Tech Center of I-25 and one in Cherry Hills.

Thanks for the recommendations. Long story short it didn't happen. We were flying out of Atlanta yesterday and the airport was in complete meltdown mode with all the cancellation and delays since Friday. Our flight got cancelled and there were no other options. Oh well. Was a long crappy day. We did manage to get a 100% refund on everything we had booked (flight, car, airbnb) and transferred the concert tickets back to the folks who gave them to us. JLinza JLinza Was supposed to see Lake Street Dive at Red Rocks. We have always wanted to see a show at Red Rocks but it will have to wait.

That sucks to hear.

Well if you are still in Atlanta and you want an amazing burger, see if you are near a Ted Montana Grill. The "Red Rock Burger" with Bison meat (always go bison here) along with their fresh handmade fries and their fresh lemonade.... Best burger I've ever bought in the US (though it's been years since I last ate at one). Simply amazing all around and I'm not talking "In and Out Burger is great...." I'm talking blows away almost every burger and burger place that isn't fresh ground there with fresh baked bread there, etc. So a discussion involving Jack in the Box, Mc Donald's, or even a place like Five Guys... just doesn't come close :D

I sure hope the place hasn't changed over the years. We don't have them where I'm at, which is surprising.

Yep we live a little over on hour north of Atlanta. There are Ted's all over. Probably a dozen or more. Closest one is about 20 minutes south. Ted's is still pretty dang good and you are correct about that burger. All their food is good. It's pretty pricey but it hasn't gone completely to crap like a lot of places since covid showed up.
