So I decided to go ahead and order the 590. I guess my biggest thing has been the cost of running a pellet grill. So use to buying cheap charcoal at Memorial week and using the pellet tube. Pretty much cost nothing to grill and smoke all year.

Adding the fold down shelf though it seems pretty narrow, 10". Adding the inside shelf. I don't see and foil inserts for the catch pail. Do they make any?

I got the Bull and use the wide aluminum foil. Perfect width to just fold over the edges. Not sure about the 590. I use the disposable bucket liners from other smokers. Not a perfect fit, but I put it in the bucket and stretch it. Works for me

I take a sqare piece off a roll and wrap it around a pint glass or water bottle, then shove that in the buckets and widen the top and wrap over the top edge.

Thought about the bull but don't really need extra room and like the hopper on the side for where I am going to put it. I have about a ten grills, smokers and flattop on patio. Something is going to have to go! I all ready gave one of my WSM's away.

Congrats on the purchase. From everything I read by owners you are going to be a happy dude.

I use a traeger bucket on my 590. It's a little smaller, but it fits the foil liners correctly.
Before I get roasted, I did get some Rec Tec stickers to cover the traeger embossing.:emoji_wink:

I use HD foil to foil the drip pan. A lot of Rec Tec peeps don't even bother and just scrape it when it has build it. I personally would rather foil. I replace after 3 to 4 cooks depending on the cooks.

For the drip bucket, the pit boss ones fit good and that's what I use. Wal-mart sells them.

Exactly what I do

follow the instructions on the burnin. clean ever couple cooks by vacuuming the ash pot (i bought a bucket head vac for this - it will get dirty), set up your app. if it get hot and sunny and you are running on 180 read this. Their website has a video on it as well. most of what you need to know is in the manual as far as maint. I would read that.

After the burn in - make something great and post it up! You will do great and love your 590! I have loved my 700 since day one.

oh yes - foil your drip tray and grease bucket.
