Rare Smoker - Looking to Change

My name is Greg and I live in a small town in North Alabama. Have smoked a few things in the past (turkey, ham, butt) on an ECB charcoal and then an electric version of the same. Just purchased the 24" Smoke Vault (Browning) a few hours ago. Planning to step up my game with the help of this board.

Confession: I boil my country style ribs (have not cooked any other type). Did not know that was a BB'Que sin. Promise to do better (unless I don't like the smoked CS Ribs) :-)

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

We won't judge you too harshly about boiling the ribs, once you give them a shot in the smoker you will never want to go back.
Be sure to give your new smoker a nice good seasoning and then get to smokin, and we all love some good Qview around here.

Welcome to SMF. You too will learn to have patience and take pity on the boilers and the delusioned liquid smoke fiends. They can be saved with some low and slow thin blue smoked BBQ.
But beware, for in the saving they will have started down the dark path of all night smokes and having more smokers in their back yard than normal people can fathom.

First off welcome to SMF there greg. You'll like this place cause there are alot of good people here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Next if you haven't tried the E-course I would highly recommend it. It's free and very informative and it will give you the basics of smoking. the next thing you do is go grab something to smoke and if you have any questions just post them here and we will help you out licky spilt. Then grab your camera and snao some pictures (Qview here) and let us see what your smoking and what your smoking on too. So go get something to smoke.
