So forecast earlier in the week looked ok. Now in Michigan, I’ve been itching to do another brisket And found a good one I froze. It’s now been thawed so I don’t want to freeze it again but our weather looks like 50% rain at around 8-9am when I want to put it on, its prob 8lbs after trimming. I’m pot committed and trimmed and seasoned her up tonight so anything I should expect beforehand? summertime I always hit a 3 hr smoke at 250 before the stall, then Texas crunch, then Im gonna oven finish this one rest of the way So I can control temps With probes. Guess just have to watch it for early morning or rain temp dips in the smoker?

Edit* well it decided to snow last night instead so no rain or wind. Brisket is holding nicely at 250. Weather actually turned out for the better.

I feel your pain, I put a 10# brisket on the smoker last night with the nasty wind and freezing rain, after fighting the smoker for about 6 hrs I finally pulled it and threw it in the oven to finish.

what kind of propane smoker do you have?

Wind & rain are definitely killers with a propane smoker, your probably just going to have the burner set a bit higher than usual & if possible shield it from the wind. The wind can blow the flame out! Good luck!

So quick edit I woke up this morning and it was snowing and no wind so I'm happy about that. Holding nicely at 250-260 at the moment. And no rain expected until afternoon when this thing will be in the oven. I have a masterbuilt pro I believe it's called. Has 4 shelves with the double door configuration.
