quick question

Just starting my uds build and I was wondering.... after you do the inital burns do you need to sand the inside before you season it?

I didnt. I sprayed the inside with pam then ran it at temp with a full basket of coals

I had mine sandblasted. I would scrap the walls at least.

I wiped mine down with alcohol and then let it air dry for a while. Then did a full basket with the sides coated with olive oil.
