Quick question: buying the first smoker (guide)

Hello guys,

I've been looking for a good place where I could learn as many things as possible on smokers and... yeah, this forum is great!

I was wondering, what are your favorites places on the net, besides this forum, where you can get all the needed info... maybe all in one place.

So far I found:

full guides @ amazing ribs. Informative but feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of information

this forum- just great! 

I was looking for an all inclusive guide.. if there's one

Anyway, I will go on and continue searching on this forum- I still don't know which smoker to get for a dear friend but am sure you guys will help me!

Hey Berry. For a fairly exhaustive and mostly reliable bbq cooking site try the link below. What would be the purpose of the perspective new pit? Are their comp considerations involved or backyard stuff etc? What is the budget? Thanks.
