Hello to all,

It's been prob about 5-6 yrs since I've posted last, but will soon have a lot more time for smoking meats and conferring with you guys.

My question is if this is the correct forum [Gen Disc or other?] for asking questions about the size/dimensions of a pit i am going to buy? I have all the dimensions and was seeking your advice if I needed to modify the firebox or other.

Thank you very much for your feedback,
TJ

Many will see the question here. There is a smoker build sub-forum that may have some good info for you. There is a couple calculators that help with fire box, stack size etc.

Thanks Big. I did not catch that forum the first pass I made.

I dont know what it entails to "buy a pit" because I've never really gotten in to a smoker build, but here is the smoker builds forum.

When I come here, I'm always coming to the home page so I'll see it all, the builds, sourdough bread...everything, but people who are in to building smokers and other cookers and pits may link themselves to directly going to that forum, so that's why trying to steer a post to the right forum may make sense. Even though I'm a retired welder/fabricator, unfortunately I have little experience in designing a smoker so I dont usually comment on those threads myself.
