Hi Everyone,

A while ago a film crew from my office and I got a chance to get out to the Que and Cruz BBQ Competition in Louisa Virginia. The intro video is finally complete.

Please check out the video:

Hope you enjoy as much as we did filming and eating! I certainly picked up some good tips from these teams.

Nice to see a Stumps smoker made it through the editing too.

Great video -- I'm sure you had a great time on this project. I checked out your web site -- you folks do excellent work!

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you guys! Yeah it was a blast. The teams were great. We had 4 of us on the production crew who drove out and back (about 9-10 hours each way).

Bill Small who puts on the benefit every year, and who's family runs the campground it is held at, could not have been more gracious and everyone there was helpful, kind, and willing to feed the crew (always a bonus).

The food was amazing and I did pick the brains of the team I was "stationed" with for the majority of the filming. I got some amazing tips and found some great gear (like my meat injector).

Any difference between "dial o matic" and "spitjack"? I have one from spitjack that looks just like the one in your other post.........never heard of dial-o-matic........curious as to any differences.

Have you broke down and got a Cambro yet? They are great!

Spoken as a producer and editor...well done guys, well done.

What camera's did you shoot on?
What do you use for editing?
What are you using for 3D graphics?

Don't know much about the splitjack. At a guess they are about the same. This is VERY heavy duty. Feel like I could caulk my tub with it. Well not quite but pretty close.

Cambro is something I do want, though my wife is out of work 1 year as of today so it's not coming so quick. Hopefully this year we will have the extra $$$ for it

Hi Dude,

Didn't know you did video.

We used 4 Panasonic cameras, an HGX and HVX 200 shooting onto P2 cards, and a couple of the consumer model handheld units, a boom, two wireless mic's, and a small portable mixer to keep it all together, at least when we had two cam's in the same location.

During the shoot days we first did a walk through and interviewed both teams to get a feel for everyone that was there and try to suss out where the stories would be.

From there we broke into individuals using the four different cameras to get some B-Roll and sounds bites while keeping an eye on the action.

We used FCP and After Effects.

What do you do in the production world? Maybe there is a good connection for us to do work together?

Hit m-e up.

Not that anyone probably cares, but spitjack and dial-o-matic are apparently one in the same. I pulled out my injector yesterday and actually looked at the instructions in the bottom of the box (never bothered before

) and on it the injector is refered to as a dial-o-matic. LOL Who would have thought?

Had to get that off my chest. LOL

Nice video...have met all those folks.....The team i competed(couple times) with last year(Sisters) did pretty well at that comp

She is the chicken master.....Her team is BlackCatBBQ
