Quarantine Chops

Under house arrest for 3 day min since Covid has arrived .... again. Can't be certain as it's rampant down here , but granddaughter's daycare owner tested positive on Tues and so far she's the only in the house with symptoms. Wish it were ME !
But we've still gotta eat right ?
Had to pick up meds so double masked up and grabbed some supplies.
We love the thick cut pork chops so applied Honey Hog on 4 for the girls.
Used these on my 2 . Thanks to Ryan
Brokenhandle the Iowa's rub !

On the MBGF at 275 with pecan chunks for extra enhancements lol.

After an hr or so they were sitting at 120 IT and time for some high heat.
Took 2 minutes(timed it) for the MB to go from 275 to 650° !
2 minutes then a flip for 2 and back to hit 140 ish.

It was tasty for sure. Added several slices of bread....but not my favorite Sunbeam round top. Been over a yr since it's been available in stores . Added some pepper vinegar to my greens

Comparatively that's a short story, especially when you love what you're reading. That is a most excellent meal that I'd be absolutely thrilled to sit down to.

Best of luck and prayers sent that you and the family all are OK. So sorry to hear about your daughter. As parents we all wish we could take their pains away but sadly we can't. All we can do is be there to support them....and cook some amazing comfort food to make them feel better

Gravity Flow 1050. Probably do 3 cooks a week ...steak , chops and will do a reverse sear.

It's been rough seeing that little fireball feel lousy since Wed. Hasn't been able to keep anything down and a video call with Dr thought stomach virus. Finally got IN to see them yesterday and BAM covid.
But she's made a turn today and much better appetite and activity.

That is awesome news!! Thanks so much for letting us know. It's a scary world we are living in and my heart goes out to anybody who catches this crap but especially the children. As adults we tend to understand better but a child has no idea what's going on, only that they are miserable. Still hoping and praying this does not expand to any other friends or family. Keep healing her with comfort food and the recovery will be much faster....and a lot more pleasant Oh...and thanks so much for the invite. Be careful what you wish for though. You might just look out one day and see me slithering up your driveway

I guess I was asking, not very well, when you go that high it is for the sear, not for smoking? I'm working on what temperature is the highest I should ever expect to take my smoker. I need to get some rtv to seal the mailbox onto the smoker.

Haha bring it on down to Ga Roberto !
Yes sir son had it last week with mild symptoms. 2 of his girls , ages 6 and 5, started with it Sunday night so it's been lurking at the doorsteps for a while !
We're all good for now and prayerfully we keep it that way!
