Ok fellow masterbuilt gravity owners I pulled the trigger yesterday on a 560. I was going to wait until Christmas but my wife found them on clearance 189.00 at a Walmart an hour away. So I loaded up the family into the highlander and off we went a good excuse to get out the house during covid. She used a website called brickseek.com you need the sku number of the product that the store uses and you can look up all the stores in a zip code area it will tell you if there are sales on stuff. She found them as low as 142.00 but those stores had sold out by the time we where able to make the trip.

Took a break for dinner.

And finished up around 1030 last night, if you take out the dinner break and playtime breaks with my assistant It took about 2 hrs to assemble. (30 mins lost cause I dropped a screw in between the lid and the sheet metal on the inside while putting the handle and only way to get screw out was through a 1inch hole had to tilt the grill multiple times to get it out a few swear words helped lol)

Burning it in this morning. It smoked alot when 1st lighting but that settled down after 10 or 15mins .

So for those of you that have one, what have you done to protect the fan wires from the heat of the grill? Ive seen where its a common thing that people have melted the fan wires I want to avoid doing that if i can.

Damn... nice find. Do you know the sku on the 560 or if there are any on sale in ND or MN 😀
You have to check the store you want to buy it at's website for the sku number im guessing it different at walmart from what it is at home depot. Then go to brickseek and put in the sku number also search different area codes it will bring up the stores that have it and what price they have it for sale. Wish I knew more but my wife is the one that did all the searching for me.

I have gotten many good deals on cookers/accessories using brickseek. I check it for the MB 560 regularly, but it hasn't dropped below $447 here. Link is below.

I just found one for $179 at my closest Walmart using that link. What makes them be able to sell it at a 64% discount? Site says ”dont mention our site at store". Just curious

The site isn't affiliated with Walmart and they say not to mention it because the stores don't have anything to do with brickseek. Brickseek is just an inventory checker. Sometimes their site will show something in stock at the store, but it's already been sold out. Even though it's not 100% accurate it is worth checking out. I've picked up a Pit Boss Copperhead 5 for $109 and a PBC knock off for $45. There were times when I asked for something to be price checked and the employee is surprised at the price. Luckily I have found that the site is far more accurate on BBQ items compared to electronics.

Also, it is just Walmart clearing out room for other products.

Gotcha thanks

Damn that's a hell of a score. I really wish i could justify getting one since a nearby walmart has one for $317 which i'd still say would be a heck of a deal, but i'm pretty well locked into my WSM for now. Keep us updated on the longevity of the unit though. if they start to make them durable i might have to make the switch

Congrats on the new smoker! That’s a heck of a deal! Cheapest I could find in my area was $50 off. I’ve bout determined that down south where the winters are mild the grills don’t see much of a clearance. I waited for 2 years trying to catch a pit boss on clearance with no luck. I haven’t had any problems with the wires melting but I’m on a FB group and a lot of people are putting some kind of heat resistant insulation tape on them I believe. The only complaint I have is I’ve had some pretty intense flare ups when doing higher temp cooks with burgers or bacon otherwise this thing puts off excellent food.

I have no idea my wife was the one that knew about them. I heard that its the time of year when they need to move out the summer items to make room for holiday inventory coming in soon. So the price stuff to move.

I think my plan is primarily to use it for smoking butts ribs briskets etc. I just got a new weber mastertouch that I will use for grilling burgers and wings etc. Although I do want to try wings and beer can chicken in the 560. Also I noticed a good amount of charcoal peices that feel through the hopper grate so I used 2 extra tent steaks to do my own grate mod.

I did the same mod with some metal skewers. Works well. I think my grease fire issue is due to the fact that the vent in the back is so big that you can’t smother the flames by closing the lid and starving the fire of oxygen like a traditional grill.

What a great deal! I just got a 560 for my birthday. Congrats on the new smoker.
How accurate is you pit temp probe? I tested my during the burn in and seasoning and the contol panel was reading 60 deg higher than my thermometer i use for most of my cooks. Tested my usual in boiling water after to verify it wasn't my old stand by that was off. Easy fix if I want to cook something at 250deg ill just set the controls to 310deg.
