Every year my family and I take a trip to the beach in the fall and rent a big house. After spending a fortune on groceries in years past I decided I was going to do some prep a little ahead of time.

Well I kind of ran out of time for my big plans. Was going to smoke and slice some eye of rounds for roast beef and do my own turkey and ham as well. Yeah just didn't happen how I had hoped so I went to the store and bought a 10 pound oven roasted turkey breast a la tx smoker tx smoker sized he posted a few weeks ago. Also picked up a 10 pound pre cooked ham that had already been smoked. Gave the turkey a little cold smoke one evening and then both headed for the slicer. Here is one pan of each.

Also decided to take some ground beef with us as we usually grill out a couple times while there. Picked up 3 chuck roasts for $3.49 lb

Ended up with this haul sealed up in one pound bags

Had done some pork butts the weekend before so I packed that up in 2 pound portions as well.

7 pounds of ground chuck. 4 pounds of pulled pork. Ended up taking 4 pounds of ham and 4 pounds of turkey with us and froze the rest. All if it got eaten aside from 1 pound of turkey! There were 9 of us including 2 of my sons friends. Never seen more eaten than those 3 teenage boys put down.

On a side note when we rented the house it noted online it had a propane grill there. I get there and find this...

Lol I have never used an "expert grill" before but man it was bare bones...I have been too spoiled at home!

Had a great relaxing much needed vacation! Enjoyed some cold ones and had some great food. Did a big seafood boil and some other stuff there too but rarely had my phone on me to get pics.

Here is one shot off our back porch with the entrance the Charleston harbor in the background.

Anyways just had a few pics on my phone and figured I'd share. Thanks for looking!

Oh, buddy. With all the good conversations you and I have had about good beer, i see you knocking down a Miller on vacation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily knocking the Miller, but you're on vacation bud! It's time to treat yourself!

Awesome pics. Super jealous. Not bad 18lbs of meat knocked down. Good for you folks.

Looks like a very relaxing spot you chose. Good food plus good people equals good times.

Now onto that last picture. If you had substituted a PBR tall boy in place of that Miller. Then that photo would be hanging up in the Smithsonian. :emoji_wink:

Point for sure
Chris

Nice! I need a vacation. Last ten plus years all my vaca time goes to the deer woods with me. A "real" vacation sounds great.

Ill tell you one thing coming back to work this week has sucked! LA to FL isn't too far of a drive is it? Beach time!

Looks like a great time with great food!

It was! I wish I had gotten some pics of the seafood cooks we did. But man there is just something about manning a grill right next to the ocean with the breeze blowing and a cold one in your hand!

Your right man! Something about that price I just couldn't turn down! I had some other good stuff there. I picked up a new Belgium peach sour and a tangerine session. Drank a couple 18 packs of Corona too(18 packs were $12.99 on sale there and they are $24 in TN).

Glad it went well, and great looking grub John. You're going to need another vacation after Saturday, and a WHOLE lot more beer.

Hey man we beat Miss St! I missed the whole game took the kids to see Fort Sumter and the USS Yorktown.

But yeah you are right I am going to need to stock up on beers before the Saturday beat down.
