I agree. I find it's usually better to blow on the input than suck on the output. Keeps fan blades/parts a lot cooler too, although for 60F cold smoking that's not an issue..When I tried it something like that the smoke gummed my little fan motor up.
That's some pretty cool stuff man! Looking forward to see what you cold smoke with it and how it all comes out :DMy previous design with the fan mounted on top of the flu got gunked up after several smoking sessions so I finally found the time to come up with a different design. I'll preface with that I'm no engineer, just something I thought that might work better. After hours of design work for the stl's, 38 hours later on the 3D printer in PETG, it was ready to try. So far in my initial testing it seems to be working well. It doesn't create such a strong draft to accelerate the burning of pellets or dust, just enough to assist the draft to prevent smoke lingering to long when the ambient temp isn't low enough. I used a 80mm AC variable speed muffin fan to control the draft and on high seems to provide a nice draft.
