:?: Am searching for "poultry shears". Upon searching the net, there are thousands of them. The prices also vary. Anywhere from $20 to $???. I know my "fellow smokers" are using them or own a set. Which do you have? Are there pro's & con's ?
Thanks.

The shears I use are Farberware as well cajun_1. They where about $8 or so I think. They could be better, but they get the job done and didn't cost a fortune to see how I liked them and how much use they got.

We kill about 200 hundred chickens, a dozen or so turkeys, and 100+ rabbits every year. I usually pack the chickens either cut up or in halves, and the rabbits always cut up. Of course the turkeys are left whole. I've had the best luck with a high quality set of pruning shears from my local hardware store. I also keep a pair of meat scissors handy just in case the pruners won't cut the skin. Usually I don't have a problem though.
