Decided to bang out an easy keto meal on the Blackstone for tonight and leftovers this week. Egg roll in a bowl served in cabbage cups. I prefer the warmed cabbage cups over lettuce for this. Did this on the Blackstone griddle. Locally sourced ground pork with green onion , cilantro, mushrooms and cabbage. Seasoned with salt, pepper, five spice and sesame oil. Tasty 😋

First up the ingredients. Two big trays of mushrooms diced. Two bunches of cilantro chopped. Four lbs. of ground pork from the whole hog I bought. For seasoning salt, white pepper and five spice along with sesame oil, hot chili sesame oil and Tamari. Not pictured is a 5 lbs. bag of shredded cabbage.

First up is the pork on the griddle. I seasoned the pork with salt , pepper and five spice. Chopped it up real good constantly throughout the cook to keep it nice and fine.

Moved the pork to the side and added the diced green onions and cilantro to the griddle.

Once the onions were cooked I mixed it into the pork and let it simmer together a bit. When that was done I put it in a pan on the side to cook some shrooms. I am giving some to a friend that cant eat those.

Griddle load of shrooms cooking away. Minced them finer with the giant spatula as they cooked.

Next up was cabbage. I put 5 lbs. of cabbage on the griddle with plenty of avocado oil. Once it began to soften I hit it liberally with both of the sesame oils and also added more five spice. Once the taste was good I mixed all the other goodies in. The last step was to hit it all with tamari to taste. I got busy talking to a buddy and didn't get a shot of the mountain of cabbage on the griddle. He

Here it is plated up in cabbage cups. I prefer using these to lettuce cups for this. I just cut a cabbage in half and nuke it for 30 - 45 seconds to pull off nice cups to fill. Topped with a little chili garlic sauce and served it with some extra chili garlic sauce and tamari.

My wife loves this stuff and was very pleased with it. I dig it to. This is a cool meal to whip up that has few ingredients and limited prep work. Thanks for looking!

Yep, those'll work nicely.
Make mine really spicy, and I'll eat about three or four.

Reminds me of Thai Nam Sod, which I relish.
I put a good amount of that spicy chili garlic sauce on mine. Love that stuff

Nice job Jeff.
I've been looking at a Blackstone and thinking I should have bought it earlier this year for summer outdoor cooking.

Did you get any Daikon to grow? I completely forgot to plant my seeds.

I've got 2 Korean chili varieties and 2 Thai chili varieties in the garden. So far they have survived the freezing temps the past 2 nights. Any of them will "brighten your day" for really spicy.

Another magnificent effort Jeff. All of that looks fantastic and knowing how you cook, I bet the flavor was a chart topper. Do you think you cooked enough for three people though?? :emoji_laughing: I know you said you gave some to a friend but man that looks like a ton of food. I'd be thrilled to have a bucket full for leftovers though. Excellent job sir!!

Looks great Jeff! I’ve made something similar without the mushrooms, although the mushrooms sound fantastic in it.

Beautiful as always. That picture just makes me want to slurp some of that hot sauce from the spoon:emoji_laughing:
