Started a butt this morning. I have made a few in the year plus I have been smoking, and they are always a hit. The weather is a little bit chillier this morning than I had hoped, but a man must smoke when the meat demands, so it must be. Using my Cabelas 7 in 1 smoker has been easier than anticipated and the resulting grub better than any oven baked trash. This particular butt I used Jeff's rub for the first time. Thanks to moeweys recipe that I found here on smoking meat forums, the process is always easy and right on perfect. I am sprinting every hour or so with apple juice and Capt. Morgan, and will foil at 165 or so. I hope to get a pic or two at that point to let you all see into the smoke. No finishing sauce here, but may brew up a batch of Jeff's sauce to add to the Sammie that are going to be the hit of tonight's dinner. Really enjoy reading about the different styles and thoughts on how to improve the flavors, but this one here is tough to beat anywhere. Happy smoking, and enjoy the pics as I get them on here.
