I get my shoulder surgery Friday. I picked up a 7 lb pork butt that I think I smoke one armed but wont be able to inject. Want to make ham. It maybe several weeks before up I am up to smoking it. Not sure if should just inject now and leave in brine or just freeze it and what until sure I can do it?

I would Freeze and wait. You can use an Equilibrium Brine Cure injected and Soaked ala, Dave Omak, but Several Weeks of soaking is asking for trouble. The Brine can get Ropy and have to be changed. There is any number of Salt Tolerant Bacteria and Mold that can Infect the Brine over such a long period too. Unless you MUST HAVE IT for a scheduled event, wait.
Good luck with the Surgery and get well soon...JJ

You probably right. Thought about injecting then freezing but maybe I can get someone to inject for me when I know I'm ready.
