Poll: what woods do you use for smoking spares

I use mostly hickory..I also use blackjack oak but I guess that don't grow in your area...lol

I usually use a mixture of apple oak and sassafras

D88de-you can always go back into your poll and make changes if you need too.

I use a 3-1 combination of cherry and hickory.

I like a combo myself....apple and cherry.

GREAT POLL - very interesting results so far. I'm a combo guy, typically a 50/50 blend of Hickory and Apple. The more I read and with the posts I've been seeing on this subject, I'm intrigued with the possibilities with cherry. I'll have to give that a run and see how it turns out.
