I am looking for a PID controller for a propane sausage smoker I am building. I would like the PID to have the following but can do without the convenience items like wifi if necessary.
* Controlled/monitored by wifi on phone app
* 110 v power supply to the pid
* Control either a 110 v or 12 v solenoid valve to shut off and on gas supply
* K type thermocouple to monitor smoker temperature. Open to other types of TC.
* Be able to step temperature up or down at certain time intervals
* Have some kind of auto tune process would be nice
* An alarm would be ok but not necessary
* Anything I am missing?

What model/brand would you recommend and what add'l accessories would I need to purchase with it?

One option looking at: https://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14_28&products_id=702

I'm thinking it takes more than just a shut off solenoid... I believe there is a unit that controls the temps by metering the propane/gas... It's PID controlled... There was a build or two here if I remember right... But we all know how that goes... The ReMemory is a terrible thing...

Here you go... Found this... Of coarse you don't have to get as fancy on the controll panel...

Also.. This is the PID I use... It has a 30 step ramp/spoak feature...

I saw that thread and is more fancy than I want. I will have a safety shutoff valve at the beginning of the gas line in case of flameout. There will also be a bypass around the solenoid valve controlled by the pid with a needle valve to have a small flame constantly so wont need a pilot. Thinking about a second needle valve before the solenoid valve in case I need to reduce gas to raise temp more slowly. I will check out the one you came up with.

I am doing something very similar to this thread for the gas supply:
