PID... explained in lame terms...

Seems that a lot of people have a trouble to understands and set up PID so PID performs the way it should.... I need to know how many of you are not familiar with PID or need extra info about how to set up PID.....t me know and I will set up PID and walk you through set up....

I know the basics but would love to learn more. I should admit I am somewhat biased towards PID. In homebrewing there are a group of brewers that have either built or purchased very sophisticated systems and nearly all are controlled via PID. They seem to think this system inherently makes better beer. It is does not but it does not stop them from asserting so. Fortunately, I am a certified judge so...

Hey Z, morning... I'm a certified judge of quality beer also.... Surprised we haven't met in a bar somewhere..... or the beer cooler at W-Mart...

OK, it may be a bit early for beer humor... It's almost 7 AM here and I'm only on my second cup of coffee... 2 or 3 more cups and I will be alert.... because the world needs more lerts....

I'd just like to know how to wire one controller to one hot plate...not a hot plate and a fan, or a hot plate and something else...just the controller and the hot plate.

I have NO idea how to decipher a wiring diagram and it looks like there's a BUNCH of wires in what pics I can find.

The thing is, I'm pretty darned handy at most things...I can solder/weld/braze (jewelry and copper), I designed and built my own porch, chicken coop, and garden shed...but electricity eludes me.
