Philly cheese steaks

Made these tonight and cut of meat is from a whole New York roast select grade I got for 4.80 a pound. Sliced thin on my Hobart slicer, mushrooms, green bell pepper, onion and pepper jack cheese

I agree a slicer is a very handy thing to have. Your Hobart is a step above what I have but even a basic one is very useful.

Looks tasty to me! Would have never thought to pair it with asparagus though...a nod to the health gods?

This put the light bulb on over my head. I cant believe I never though of trying to shave my own beef with my little slicer. I always just pick up shaved steak from Kroger when it's on sale. It's regular about $6.85lb but goes on sale about 1/3 off sometimes which can be between $4 and $5 which is about as cheap and almost any cut of beef goes on sale.
