Lumberjack, Cookin Pellets, and BBQer's Delight don't use ANY filler; they are 100% of what ever flavor wood it says on the bag. I can buy Lumberjack (LJ) locally at a great price ($13/20 lb bag) from a business operating out of a home. I haven't had an issue with LJ in over 8 years.

100% agree. Once I tried LJ Comp Blend the search was over. been using them as long as I can remember.

After a couple bag, so far so good with the Kingsford Craftsmoke Hickory pellets, nice flavor and they are the cleanest burning pellets I've ever tried. The Mesquite were just as clean, I preferred the Hickory flavor though(on pork and bison anyway).

It only took one bag of Bear Mnt for me to realize the amount of ash was not worth the price. Been using LJ ever since.

Don't confuse BLENDS with FILLERS . Two very different things .
Oak and alder are used as base wood blends .
Fillers are chemicals / flavored oils , and sometimes various species of softwood .

Not all Lumber jack are 100 % anymore , so that statement can mis lead .
They do a good job of stating 100 % or blend on the bag where you can see it .

I use mainly B&B champ blend , but I'm open to trying the kingsford . I'll grab a bag when I see it .

Not all BBQer's Delight is 100% flavor wood. They have small bags that are 100% but their 20 lb bags are a blend of oak and flavor wood sawdust. BTW, I have heard but don't know for certain that B&B is rebranded BBQer's Delight.

Yup. Last year in January I scored a couple 20lb bags $8.97 a piece. I don't own a pellet smoker/grill but I use pellets/dust with my MES for smoke.

I will very often do steaks in my MES and use the RO pellets for smoke then do a quick reverse sear.
These pellets definitely impart a charcoal profile to the meat.This has become my preferred method for doing steaks these days.

A 20 lb bag of pellets used only for smoke in a MES should last a LONG time. That's what I do with my MES40 and mailbox mod. I'm working my way through a bag of mesquite/oak blend. It's fantastic! I'm glad we like it, because it's gonna last me another 2-3 years!

I love to buy more flavors, but really can't see the value of it. I wish manufacturers would sell smaller size bags, too, for us "use for smoke, not fire" folks.
