Here's a odd question, maybe lol. I have a gas vertical smoker. However, when I bought it (used), it came with 2 bags of pellets. It is NOT a pellet smoker. Can I still use them for smoking instead of wood chunks? If so, how much do I use? Thanks for your help. Still new and learning.

Depending on the set up those little boogers will burn up too fast and/or catch fire. I wouldn't advise doing it, but that is just my opinion.

Most of the burn canisters have a lid that will not allow enough air in to allow combustion...I'm thinking he should give it a trial (no meat) run..

In my gas smoker the chip box has a lid, stuff wont catch fire for the most part, yours might be similar only way to find out is tect drive it
