Pellet Smokers

Since you just want decent, Recteq has a sale this weekend. They’re not what they used to be, but they’re still decent. The patio has a 4 year warranty and all I’ve replaced on mine has been a multitude of igniters. I think that’s a specific glitch with my model.
Their shippers suck, I did have to sent back a few boxes at the start but just igniters since then.

Ok, good to know. It looks like I'll need to up my budget for something bigger. Any thoughts on the Green Mt grills?

Heard good things about GMG, they’re outta your range unless you want the tabletop model. There is no perfect pellet smoker, even if you triple your budget, you don’t get perfect. Good customer service and a long warranty should be the top things on your list.

I have a GMG Danial Boone grill and it hasn't had any problems since I bought it 6 years ago. The
temp control seems to work OK. Heat distribution over the grates is even except for one spot
near the exhaust stack.

I have not read anything about them "not being what they used to be". Several members have bought them recently and I dont recall any complaints or issues. Can you elaborate?

GMG makes a nice smoker, I have the baby one, and many of my friends have bigger ones. They have a true PID controller and have a very nice smoke profile.

Recteq is also nice (I love mine) but if the GMG is in your price range and the RT isn't I would snag one without hesitation.....

I'd take a look at Weber right now. Presidents Day sale is going on.
100% . I looked at the Smoque XL at Lowes a couple days ago , and went back and looked again today .
That thing is sexy ! Love my EX4 SmokeFire , but I almost had them load up that Smoque .
If I would have seen a sale price I probably would have .

The Green Mt grill ledhe 2.0 for $629.
Sounds like a winner . All kinds of great pellet grills out there . I always say make a list of features you want , then see who has what in your price range .

Chop, I stopped by and went over the Weber SXL, yea that is a nice rig!!

For price point the GMG has nice features, make sure its a wifi one for sure!

Great thanks guys..the Weber Smoque XL looks really nice and has good reviews. The cleanouts seem easier vs some of the other ones out there.

I'm not pushing or suggesting that you get a Weber . I like mine . It's the SmokeFire . The Searwood is the " improvment " over the SmokeFire , and they stopped making the SmokeFire . Shame really . The Smoque is more of a traditional pellet setup . The SmokeFire and Searwood have an open design , that makes it great for grilling and smoke flavor .

Anyway , yes , the clean up is super easy on the Webers . Has the pull out drawer for ash and grease . I just cleaned mine up a couple days ago . Takes about 10 minutes . No shop vac needed .

excellent, I am leaning towards the smoque so far. Everything else is just so pricey.

Do your homework , and know what you're getting for the money . Should see sales again around end of May , then 4th of July .

Ok, thank you and will do. I had a traditional 250 gal offset wood smoker. I sold it for various reasons and I will be getting a 120 offset built, but in the meantime I want to get a pellet smoker to hold me over.
