Well I saw a another Pellet grill in teh running fo rmy next purchase. Was looking hard at the Traeger but was not stable setting. Today I saw the Char Grill Pellet grill half the price looked solid enough, than another smoker here has one looks like it may be bought once I get teh dollarsnext month.

In my most humble opinion, the controller is paramount. I'm not saying that it's the only factor but, it's important. Very important.

I ran across a Traeger that was a last year's model, scratch and dent special. I knew what I was getting since I did heavy research on it precisely the size I wanted and was easily upgradable to a Savannah Stoker PID controller. After I purchased it I promptly replaced the controller and sealed up the door with high temp silicone sealer. Added one of Todd's Amazen tube smokers for enhanced smoke flavor and this pellet pooper kicks butt.

I honestly don't know anything about the char grill pellet smoker you are referring to but I would be leery of buying a cheap pellet smoker. It's just not worth it. Save up your coin and get a good one or do your research and be prepared to modify a cheaper one.

I will say this, I love the pure wood smoke flavor from the pellet Grill. Ummmmmm!

I have a GMG DB.and it's great. Slightly cheaper than a Traeger in the UK and slightly more grill area. It's pretty heavy gauge and well built.
I'd imagine it's silly cheap for you guys.

Personally I think pellet grills are the future.

Thank ya the verdict is still out until money and time is on hand. Appreciate teh input as well thats why I visit here

I agree with esexsmoker, I have a green mountain smoker and its been pretty good for me. It's cheaper then traeger and can do everything a traeger can do.. their pellets seem to be oil based for flavor and supposedly it's recommended that you only use their pellets. With my green mountain I've used different types of pellets with no problems and the manufacturer tells you that you can and won't hurt anything.
