Did you all know that a 3rd century martyr named Saint Lawrence is the patron saint of BBQ? (Actually cooks, but I'll stretch it to BBQ). Google his story. He was basically a treasurer for the church and when told to turn over the church's riches he instead showed the Roman emperor the sick, crippled, and dying, claiming they were the church's riches. For his rebellion he was "grilled" to death, not burned at the stake. Legend has it during the torture his last words were "turn me over, I'm done on this side," or something to that effect.
