My daughter just turned 10. A few months ago she started showing interest in cooking. I love to cook and thought it would be a good way to spend some daddy/daughter time together. We started out by doing breakfast stuff - eggs, toast, bagels, etc. She has now become my smoking buddy. She loves hanging out in the garage smoking meat with me. Of course having a TV and Wii out there helps to keep her from getting bored.
She was almost as excited as I was when our new WSM got here right after Christmas.
Putting some Canadian Bacon on the smoker and taking it off.
Helping with some bacon wrapped tenderloin steaks.
If you have young kids, teaching them to cook and smoke is a great way to spend some quality time with them. Just thought I would share.
