Painting the outside of a UDS

I am sure there is topic on this question so I apologize. But I did research maybe not long enough but I did. Anyways I was wondering about the paint on the outside of the drum. Should I remove it with paint thinner or paint over it with High temp primer or paint? If I paint over the old stuff my concern is the new paint peeling if the old paint starts to go. Thanks for any help.

I just typed paint uds in the search bar up top & got lotsa threads in 2 seconds so just do that if u want more threads to read. Have fun with ur uds!
