does anyone know of a good paint to repaint my fire box.my firebox paint is peeling, i have tried all those high temp, spray paints but they do not work.

Hello , Dannylang . I worried about my FB's for a long time and finally gave up and used an old remedy I caught as a kid...
I use Lard or Manteca ... when I start my fire I put my 'smudge pot on the fire box and use a little grill mop to coat the fire box with the melted liquid...
Look :
can see the line of discoloring , not a bad color , almost like a gun browning , instead of blueing...
The grease protects the metal and even though there is still some oxidation , it's minimal , and extends the life of the FB. JMHO...

Fire Boxes are hard to keep painted So much heat. I just repainted my entire smoker and refinished the wood, I have to touch up the fire box every so often just because of the heat.
Here is what I use, and keep a can around for the touch ups. Here are some pictures of my repaint
