Just a thought gang.
I went out this morning with about 16 inches of snow on the ground to pick up some things from the store. On the way there I realized how lucky I was to be able to get around with my Jeep Wrangler YJ. After that thought I grabbed my cell and called my parents and mother-in-law and some friends that I knew wouldn't be able to get out and travel in this and offered to get them items that they may need from the store and deliver it to them. Many of them accepted. Because of the situation I would not accept money for gas just the groceries I delivered. They all really appreciated it.
My point is, if you know someone that can't get out or needs to go somewhere, give them a helping hand or see if they need anything from the market. Here in eastern Ohio it's bad. This is the worst we've seen it in ---a lot of years---.

Right on Ray! I do the same when I can and get the "why" from some people. I just smile and move on.

Good for you - may you be rewarded by the smoker gods with a perfecty done brisket or butt next time!

Thats a pretty good idea. Living in Colorado, most people are pretty prepared, but not everyone, especially if the storm is really bad. Most of the locals around here are used to seeing cars sliding of the road and getting stuck. Someone usually stops to help immediatly. I saw someone get stuck the other day and before I could drive the 100 yrds to help them, someone was already getting out of their truck to tow em out. Its always a good idea to help out someone who otherwise would not be able to help themselves.

On a lighter note, I owned a '97 TJ for about 7 years. It served me pretty well throughout the years. Did a lot of four wheeling in it up in the mountains. I did find that it was a pretty light vehicle. Got blown around by strong winds and sometimes didn't get great traction in the snow and ice. Did you do any mods to yours? I just added 31'' ATs. Currently have a 2008 FJ Cruiser, with a 3" OME lift and 305s. Also has a rear locking diff and active traction control in 4wheel low. That thing is a beast off roading and in the snow. I've even seen stock FJs do things I would have thought impossible.

Good thought. A few weeks back we got 8" or so and I used my tractor and blade to clean every driveway in the neighborhood, also pulled an elderly neighbor out who had slid off the road. This same guy kept an eye out for us boys growing up, was kinda nice being able to do something for him.

Hey Wolf, know what? That's a 365 day per year credo - forget the weather. There's probably someone out there that could use the help.

Or maybe volunteer - Meals on Wheels, a soup kitchen, or even a church feeding the homeless.

i respect that, way to pay it forward. my search and rescue team does a service for the hospital during extreme winter coditions, we drive all the nurses and docs to and from the hospital. last year we logged 5000 miles in 3 days on our riggs just in clark county. again i respect you for that im glad to see ppl helpin others.

I used to belong to a 4X4 club on the front range. We were called out a couple of times for snow storms and fires. The snow storms were a blast. Almost nobody on the roads and everybody was in awe of our rigs. It felt real good when we were done.
