Lets get ready for planting. What is everyones plan for this season?? I will start with some pics from last years crop.

I have my mater seed in the dirt already (setting in the laundry room

) getting ready to put pepper seeds in next to them, getting ready for ABT's...

spent the last few days geting ready for spring-here we grow year round-used to use the plot in backyard(20x50ft)chicken wire buried 6 inches in the ground to keep the rabbits from digging under 30 in high-bird net covering the entire thing-here in the desert no such thing as growing 1 for me 2 for the critters-so a fort knox of a garden if u would.with water the way it's getting and my well being 400+ ft deep I have changed to raised beds and container growing.just picked the last of the onions-will get maters-peppers-onions, radishes in-we thinking more peppers this year-may we will start seeing 100-june 110,july,aug,sept same-than fall garden when we plant carrots lettuce and the like.I really like growing stuff.when I used to grow in the plot I used to have to take a stick with me to rattle around the folage to make sure a rattler wern't in there keeping cool-more than once I had them in there.dogs been bite 4 times.

i tell ya, this is the greatest site! not only covers smokin but gardening as well. cool beans. dont have any pics on digital but will this year. tomatoes,cucumbers, and cabbage are my main crop. got to have tomato sauce,dill pickles, and sauerkraut from the crock!!!!! that sauerkraut goes great with the sausage and bologna. also plant peppers of various kinds,
radishes,beans,beets,turnips.

Spring fever is upon us!!!

I have tomatoes from 3 to 8 inches high, so far still in pots. Will be transplanted to garden in another couple of weeks. Still have onions, kale and turnips in the ground now. Will also do some cukes and put my jalapeño plants in the ground too.

The middle of May we'll get started here. Like every year, peppers: Thai Dragon or Kung Pao. This year, I think I'll do Thai Dragons and Seranos.

To give an idea of yield, I get a quart container of ground peppers out of those plants by mid Sept. when they are toast as we get out first hard freeze.

Shortly I'll be planting a few peppers; Chichimeca (Jalapeno type), Sandia (NuMex), and Chimayo (heirloom New Mexico), and red bell peppers. Veiggies I'l be planting are cukes, onions, maters, cilantro.

Beautiful plants Abelman and Smokin Joe!

I brought a small tomato plant into the house for the winter.....
It's doing really well, so far I count 11 small tomatoes on it.









I'm sure ready for spring.
