So this isn't a BBQ cook, but I'd won some osso buco shanks from Porter Road as part of a throwdown prize package, so there is a connection.

I'd never even had osso buco in a restaurant, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I pretty much followed a well-reviewed recipe from the internet, and as a side made a polenta/parmesan/tomato bake that I had done before.

I was happy with both, though eating osso buco is a little bit involved, to get the meaty bits out from the rest of the shank. Pics below.

I need to make this again, I still have about 12 veal shanks in the freezer.
