Opinion on these tanks for new build with off set fire box. Northern tool has them under $700. 16 Gauge steel.

What service is that tank designed for? 16 gauge is pretty thin for an offset.

I kind of figured that with the welded channels which act as a stiffener and as legs.

Spend some time looking on Craig’s list in the farm and garden section. It may take a few weeks, but there is a pretty good chance some affordable used tanks will turn up. Unless you already have fabrication/welding skills, 16ga is pretty hard to learn on.
