Well, wen't an seen doc taday. Some of ya may er may not know, I'm a diabetic.

He started me on insulin, just at night fer now, but we gotta work on the dosage. I guess I been lucky, been on pills fer over 9 years an got buy, but it's advanced ta the point they won't do it no more. Guess we'll see where this goes.

I ain't lookin fer anybody ta feel sorry fer me, I just know what it can do. Watched it eat away at my grandma an my dad. I ain't lookin forward ta livin like that. Try an take good care a myself (well, so did they) an guess we just take it one day at a time.

Have ta see how takin inuslin will affect work, perty sure the Commercial Drivers License just wen't south. Oh well, like the smaller trucks better anywho!

Well ya know what they say, when life deals ya lemons, make lemonade (yall ever have that without sugar.....Yuck!

) So as a reward, I'm gonna make more pepperoni sticks tangiht!

Dang Tip, sorry you have to do the insulin thing. Are you going to be able to do the oral insulin or are you going to have to do the shots?

I'm Type 2 myself-diagnosed nearly 14 years ago.  Just had a 3 month check-up and my A1C is 5.6; now if I could lose about 30-40 pounds and get down to 220-230, my Doc told me she would do cartwheels in the hallways of her clinic. I know if I did, my knees and hips would sure feel a lot better.

Yeah, them docs wan't ya ta loose all this wieght, yet most a the pills an insulin to cause ya ta tend ta gain wieght!  I been big all my life, was born a big baby, was a big kid an told doc I guess I'll prolly die big to.  Feel sorry fer the pal bearers, well maybe work will let em use one a the cranes an drop me in the hole.

yeah I have been on insulin for about 15 years, I am not a Doc but I bet he put you on an insulin like lantus, it is a long lasting type.  What you have to watch out for is getting regular, not skipped meals.  That could cause your BG to drop to low.

Take care of yourself Tip!

My daughter-inlaw has Type 1. Just found it two years ago. She's 35 years old. She can't eat this, and can't eat that, but she can eat ALL the meat she wants! I guess that's the silver lining, if there is any. She watches her diet, and goes to the gym a lot. That keeps the amount of insulin she needs to take down pretty good. She's not heavy at all---built nice actually.

I was a little over the border line in sugar & my cholesterol 6 months ago, but the tests I got yesterday showed I went back to the good side of the border line. I guess the 15 pounds I lost in the last two months helped. 20 more would be nice. Get me down to my fightin' weight of 215.

I guess you can keep eating meat Tip, but where can you get it?-----LOL

Man I'm sorry to hear that Tip. You having to do the whole shot thing. We are awaiting some test to come back and have been monitoring the wife's sugar too. We will find out if she has diabetes to soon enough. But you do make some fine looking pepperoni sticks.
