The OP did not mean to start a back and forth on burgers. So I apologize for bieng a part of that. I misunderstood the point the OP was trying to make at first as well as others.🫤

A smash burger as a high-end trend IS pretty silly.

I've got no problem with whatever direction this thread wants to go. I just thought they should read the article, because as you say, high end smash burger is pretty silly.

The original Oklahoma Onion Burger was a smash burger, that was meant to spread the cost of hamburger meat during the Depression. The onions were a filler. Sooooo, I see it in high end, fine dining restaurants at a high price , I think it just doesn't fit.

But again, this thread can go where ever and I'm good with it.
