Well I tried it again...This time with two handful of lump charcoal and it worked like a charm..Would stay steady at 25o to 225 for a couple hrs before i would have to reload. Saved on using just lump. Did a 15lb brisket On my Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited Edition for 19hrs + 1 in the cooler. Came out perfect.I'm wondering if an electric element from a Brinkmann Gourmet Electric smoker can be adapted to a side box in this fashion. I love the consistent temperatures from the electric, but i hate the lack of real estate, I can't fit a decent sized beef brisket in this....
