Oak, anyone?

I bought some oak chunks for smoking one time, simply because that's all my local supplier had. I was very pleasantly surprised. I have since started using oak all the time. Does anyone else here use it?

I haven't gotten plain oak but did try the Jack Daniels Oak Barrel Chips and we love them! Use them in nearly every smoke now.

Oak burns pretty hot and makes a good fuel for the smoker.  A lot of people will use a mix of oak and other woods.
